Another wonderful family, friend, and community member has passed away . The news of Lisa R. Hiveley’s demise on Saturday, March 30, 2024 is brought to us with profound grief.
On August 29, 1971, Lisa came into this world. She now calls the Shenandoah Valley her home.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Paul Hiveley and Betty Dunn Perry; her paternal grandparents, Tilman and Myrtle Hiveley and her maternal grandparents, John and Hattie Dunn.
She is survived by her sisters, Kim Scott, Wilma Bradley and Crystal Perry; her brothers, Nathan Perry and David Perry; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and her special friends, Becky Meeks, Bunny Hearn and Valery Woody.
Lisa was a WFAC Lifetime Member of the Waynesboro First Aid Crew.
People who knew Lisa well attest to her passion for and commitment to serving others. In October 2004, Lisa joined the Waynesboro First Aid Crew as a volunteer and has since worked as a driver and emergency medical technician. Lisa went above and above the call of duty as a WFAC member. Lisa was a Training Lieutenant for a while and also answered medical emergency calls. The public relations and special projects committees were both greatly aided by Lisa’s participation.
Lisa has attained the pinnacle of EMS organization membership with her life membership in WFAC, a result of her many years of committed volunteer work. Lisa decided to take her membership to the next level and turn EMS into a profession once she earned life membership. Lisa went from being a volunteer EMS provider at WFAC in August 2015 to a career provider in July 2020, when she retired owing to health issues. She served the community faithfully until then. May EMT 119 rest in peace.
A man’s love for his friends is greater than everything, according to John 15:13.
Lisa was an avid UVA fan!
